Drama Education

Since 2019, more than 30 organizations,

over 2000 participants,

at least 150 workshops have been served.

Theatre-Acting/ Productions

 

Drama programs can be tailored for schools, providing one-time training, in-school curriculum and coaching for competitions and performances. Students can also gain backstage production skills and participate in professional-level performances. These experiences foster creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence through the theatre-making process.

Past theatre-acting/productions experiences include:

  • In-school Drama Education Subject teacher @ Po Chiu Catholic Secondary School

  • Drama Club Tutor @ Po Chiu Catholic Secondary School & Carmel Pak U Secondary School

  • Director & Scriptwriter for inter-school drama competitions and annual school performances.

Drama-In-Education Workshops 

Drama-in-education pedagogy has been widely used internationally since the 1960s. It is a teaching approach that utilizes dramatic elements tailored to different participant groups. Compared to traditional models, drama-in-education pedagogy employs games and role-playing to help participants develop deeper insights and understandings. This cross-disciplinary approach is used to provide diverse value education workshops for schools and institutions.

Past drama-in-education workshops include:

 

  •  Collaborating with primary and secondary schools to provide Chinese language learning workshops for students with reading and writing disabilities

  • Partnering with integrated children and youth service centres to offer:

    • Chinese Literacy workshops for non-Chinese speaking students

    • Parent-child communication workshops

  •  Working with substance abuse counselling centres to facilitate empathy workshops for peer mentors in drug rehabilitation

  • Providing anti-drug education workshops as part of the School Health Ambassadors Program

Train-the-Trainers Workshops:

These workshops are designed for professionals in the social welfare sector. The focus is to teach participants about the principles of drama and how to apply drama-in-education techniques in their work setting to address the needs of their clients or students.​

  • Internal staff trainings for SidebySide, a non-profit organization serving ex-drug users and ex-offenders in Hong Kong​

  • Social Workers Training Workshops by DuO Lab

  • Social Entrepreneurs Training Workshops by Behub Centre
