Tiffany Lai (she/her)
Drama is not merely entertainment; it possesses the power to bridge social divides.
Tiffany Lai is a registered social worker in Hong Kong and Alberta. She graduated with distinction from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with an MFA in Drama and Theatre Education. Her accolades include the Estella Wong Drama Education Scholarship, the HKSAR Talent Development Scholarship and the Reaching Out Award. Additionally, she was sponsored by the Lee Hysan Foundation to participate in two short-term drama training programs in the UK.
Tiffany is actively involved in planning, educating, and performing within the drama sector in both Hong Kong and Canada. In 2021, she co-founded DuO Lab, a drama education company in Hong Kong, receiving support from the Social Innovation Fund. In 2024, she was selected for the Canada ICAI Newcomer Art Professional Program and recognized as one of the Top 20 Newcomer Artists in Calgary and Edmonton. Through her work, she has collaborated with over 30 organizations, implementing drama-in-education workshops for various social welfare agencies, using drama as a medium to address the needs of diverse communities.
Her artistic vision remains firmly grounded in the ethos of DuO Lab: to empower diverse communities through the transformative power of theater. Tiffany is committed to utilizing the stage as a powerful tool for social change, bridging divides and addressing the unique learning needs of students from all backgrounds, whether in Hong Kong or Canada.
